Together for Biodiversity

Advanced training

InBIO hosts students from various countries, encouraging and supporting their training through short-term courses and graduate and post-graduate education programmes.

CIBIO-InBIO is the main host institution of the DOCTORAL PROGRAMME IN BIODIVERSITY, GENETICS AND EVOLUTION (BIODIV), and the MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMME IN BIODIVERSITY, GENETICS AND EVOLUTION.

CEABN-InBIO is involved in the SUSTAINABLE FORESTS AND PRODUCTS (SUSFOR) DOCTORAL PROGRAMME.

The organization of seminars, conferences, meetings, congresses, advanced courses and workshops tackling a vast array of the most current issues in the fields of biodiversity and evolutionary biology is amongst InBIO’s priorities.

By promoting a dynamic and rich scientific environment, InBIO provides exceptional opportunities for students and researchers to diversify and strengthen their knowledge and competencies in these fields.

Examples of such events include TRENDS IN BIODIVERSITY AND EVOLUTION (TiBE) CONFERENCES (organised by CIBIO-InBIO), the ADVANCED COURSE ON POST-FIRE MANAGEMENT, organised by CEABN-InBIO in collaboration with two Portuguese universities (UTAD and University of Aveiro), Centro de Estudos Ambientales del Mediterraneo (Valencia, Spain), and the University of Colorado (USA), the ADVANCES IN ECOLOGICAL SPECIATION (AES) CONFERENCE (organized by CIBIO-InBIO), or ConGen - POPULATION GENETICS DATA ANALYSIS COURSE, a set of classes performed in rotation between the University of Montana and CIBIO-InBIO, which bring together Portuguese and US-American graduate students.
